Our Youth Prevention Programs empower youth, parents, and families to make healthy, informed choices through education, connection, and skill-building. We offer interactive workshops and community events focused on substance use prevention, mental well-being, and positive decision-making.
By partnering with schools, parents, and local organizations, we create safe spaces where young people can learn, lead, and thrive—helping to build a healthier, drug-free future for Santa Cruz County.
Circles of Peace offers monthly Trauma-Informed Care Workshops and Mental Health First Aid programs to strengthen community awareness, understanding, and response to mental health needs.
Our trainings equip participants—from community members to professionals—with practical tools to recognize signs of trauma, respond with compassion, and connect individuals to appropriate support.
Participants can earn certifications in Adult, Youth, and Older Adult Mental Health First Aid, empowering them to become advocates for well-being and healing in their workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods.
Together, we are creating a community where empathy, safety, and understanding guide every interaction.
The Santa Cruz County Drug Free Community Coalition brings together youth, parents, schools, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community organizations to prevent substance use and promote healthy lifestyles. Guided by local data and community input, the coalition works to reduce risk factors, strengthen protective factors, and create safe, supportive environments where youth can thrive.
Through education, outreach, and collaboration, we are building a stronger, healthier, and drug-free Santa Cruz County — one partnership at a time.
Our Parenting Programs help caregivers strengthen family relationships, improve communication, and create supportive home environments. Using the evidence-based Parenting Wisely curriculum, participants learn practical tools to manage stress, set healthy boundaries, and guide their children with empathy and consistency.
